Everything Paint making

You are here because you are fascinated about paint making and pigments. As you have heard from all paint makers there is no easy solution to get the recipe and making own paints. It is exceptionally slow process and like everything else you learn from experience and working slowly with each pigment. It is also the most rewarding process to slow and enjoy your instincts and chemistry of the pigments. Having said that almost all paint makers use the same ingredients and that is no secret. It is basic ingredients that you can purchase and start experimenting. Check my favorites page for all the things you can purchase to start paint making.

I have experimented many variations of paint making and I confined to just watercolors and oil just because I love making artwork with them. I learnt from googling and reading, there was no formal training when I started this journey so with trial and error I have reached a point where I can say I’m not an expert but definitely not armature!

I’m not going to reinvent the wheel and start writing about each of the materials and how to make - but Natural earth paints have wonderful blog posts for each one of them, so I’m consolidating it all here in one place so you know the process, ingredients and how to make them! Happy experimenting!
